Just thought I'd share one of the many projects on my workbench at the moment. I started out with some athearn 50' ice reefers (the atsf car is a stock model) and cut the frame in 4 places, moving the trucks in to be centered 7' in from the car ends. I cut off the athearn jack pads and moved them in as well, but I'll probably end up replacing these with rectangular pieces of styrene to be more like the prototype I then removed the incorrect roof walk and chiseled off the cast in hatch detail. The holes were plugged with styrene sheet and puttied. I still need to find a few roof walks for these and add a bit of skirting and a foot hold below the door. The cars represent B&M's 1915-1934 series 50' milk cars ordered in 1957.
