3.) SRS 125??
either a C420 high-hood or a MLW RS18, in Jamesville, south of Syracuse.

4.) Independant Cement RS3 #5, Cementon, NY - still there?

5.) LIRR FA powercabs, any still out there?

6.) NY cross harbor, Brooklyn, any Alco switchers still there?

Add LIRR S1 417 @ Colonie, OS cracked engine block. What about 2(?) Port of Albany units that were at Colonie, 1 S-2 and an RS-3, I also seem to recall an ex-B&M RS-3(?) or did that become the Schenectady Suff N Mount?

How about the exLIRR S-2 on the Staten Island Railroad? I believe she's still working there.

Yes, there still is one ex-LIRR Alco in daily use on the SIRwy. It's S-1 #407. It was recently re-built from the ground up and given a rather unimaginative overall dark blue paint job. The other Alco is an ex-US Army S-2, #821. An ex-LIRR-ex-IC caboose is also at the Clifton shops and used daily for work train assignments.

Last time I was in Cementon (about a year ago) the RS-3 was still there, but with its stack capped.

Hi Scottie,

I took a look at your most excellent Alco page! Nice job. Please add LIRR RS-3 #1556. Located at the Railroad Museum of Long Island, Riverhead NY. It is currently in "stored" condition. Needs work but could be operable with $$$. Year built: 1955.

I saw a dot on his map that said Riverhead, so I think he already has that one. I didn't see a listing for it though.

What about ex-LIRR C420 "221 Buffalo Southern #2010, in service" from a January posting?
I didn't see that one listed.

Another great website with useful info. Thanks!

xLIRR FAs: All these "Power Packs" are gone, r/b DE or DM 30ACs
however the World's Fair "shell" was acquired by the Friends of Engine 39.

NYCH: They use leasers as all their Alcos are dead (a couple are still in the Bush Term yard).

S-2 407 SIRT - see it in May 04 issue of Railpace

Can anyone verify which Alco switchers specifically are still on the property of NYCH?
