accident on BNSF

WLS-890 radio is reporting the BNSF is closed in Berwyn at East Ave & Stanley due to an Amtrak train hitting a car at that location. No trains are getting through in either direction. Injuries are not being reported. Accident happened approximately 1/2 hour ago.

Update on train-car accident:

2 dead in vehicle hit by AMTRAK train bound for SF Bay area. One of 3 tracks in Berwyn reopened to train traffic. Metra BNSF service severely impacted. Some outbound trains may be up to 2 hours late arriving at their destination.

I was on #1251, train pulled into Downers Grove about 80 minutes late. Many passengers that would usually take #1257 (5:00 Naperville express) were on #1251 because #1257 had not pulled into CUS.

The westbound Amtrak California Zephyr struck the car at the East Ave crossing on the center track and pushed the car to the Oak Park Ave crossing. While onboard the train, BNSF crews were checking the track switches for damage and the fire department was hosing down the north track at Oak Park Ave. The fencing between MT1 and MT2 between East and Oak Park Ave was completely taken out.

You cannot recognize the car. It was completely destroyed with fencing wrapped around it.
