624 gets a caboose to DeWitt

Q62407 will have a ex DLW 882 , now a freshly painted Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern 4810 caboose on it's rear end for DeWitt tonight. CF around 10pm
Working electrical system and antenna to boot. Don't know where it came from or wjere it was painted.

Why Syr? Wouldn,t Utica be more logical? Maybe for the West Rome
operation.

I doubt it was taken to FY to be taken to DeWitt.
It was buried in Gp. 1 for a week or so, that you couldn't see it from the road between class 1 and S-0. Still don't know where it came from.

Vbruce; yes i agree it does have to go thru Dewitt but seems to me it
would go on the road train that works Utica yard (MA&N)off of CP-235.
I may have no clue what I'm talking about as logic and CSX sometimes
(often) collide. I'll be looking for and report back if I spy it.

The caboose was picked up in Batavia and is going to the Delaware-Lackawanna in Scranton. CSX will hand it off to the NYSW who'll take it to Binghamton for interchange with the CP for the trip to Scranton for use down there.

Where did it come from before Batavia??

It's always been the DL&W's shove caboose in Batavia since at least the early 90's - maybe longer. Not sure why they don't use it anymore unless they put in a runaround track somewhere on the east end of the NYC trackage that runs through town.

When/where was it painted?
