Can anyone estimate when the 56th Street Station on the Market Street El in West Philly will be completed? It was originally supposed to be finished by Thanksgiving, then one of the SEPTA workers at the site told me that it will be done by Christmas. I was at 56th Street yesterday (Saturday 12/17), and from what I saw, there is no way they will have that station finished and opened in a week's time!
Also, when it is finally finished, will there be a ribbon cutting ceremony or any other celebration at the site? If there is, and if it's on a Saturday or Sunday, I will make sure I'm there, since I followed the construction, from the demolition of the old station and el structure over the summer, until now.

Why is it taking them so long??? Why couldn't they have it done by Thanksgiving as they originally planned???

Weren't they delayed due to the new concrete beams/row coming in late on some segments? Plus the cold weather, etc.

Can't wait to see the new station.
