JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - CSX's order for 102 General Electric ES44DC
Evolution-Series diesels have been completed. Delivery began in
December 2006 with the last locomotive arriving this month. The units
are numbered 5400 to 5501. Delivery of the new power will allow CSX to
retire older units, particularly GE B30-7s, which are being retired
when they suffer a major mechanical failure.
