Does anyone know when the WI (Wilmington, MA) B&M local was ended? I remember seeing it around the early to mid 80's.

Thanks.

WI-1 went by the boards soon after the 1986 strike. I can't remember if it was ever restored. Ditto on BO-4 from Boston. Both locals met/swapped cars at S.Wilmington most days.

Speaking of WI-1...
Was there ever any on-line business on the Wildcat branch? That is besides the lumber yard right at the Wilmington (Station) Junction.
Also, how for North did it go? ...to the North Billerica Yard?
Thanks for the information!

Steve -

As far as I know there were no sidings between Clark St and CPW-WJ on the Wildcat. Just the coal dealer and lumber company between Main St and Clark Sts.

WI-1 did not go north of Wilmington as a rule. A switcher from Lowell
did General Latex, Corenco and Billerica Shop.

WI-1 would work south to S.Wilmington all day and turn back to Wilmington there. They would swap cars, if necessary, with BO-4 at
S.Wilmington.

WI-1 made up the pickups for BODO and SAED too.

Dave,
Thanks for all the great information!
I live within sight of the Wildcat and I really appreciate all the history.
