One final post for today. I recently rode to New Haven and noticed that bar cars still live on even in 2005. Why doesn't Metro North offer this service on the Port Jervis line. 88 miles from Hoboken..seems like some commuters might get thirsty on the long trip

MNCR does not provide the west of Hudson Service.
NJT does that under contract and NJT does not do barcars.
MNCR would not have the supportstaff to handle bar cars west of Hudson.

Question what kinds of things do they sell in the Bar Car? I know Chicago has a few.

. . . . Besides, most Rockland and Orange Countyites don't drink anyway. New Haven territory is a whole 'nother story . . . .

Comment intended in good fund and I sincerely hopew will be so taken.

Also -- Aren't the Bar Cars on the New Haven line funded in full (including the staff on-board the trains) by CDOT, and not MNR?
