Congrats on achieving a long-sought goal. I'm impressed that while schedules sometimes slip the projects always get done! And while the work went in to getting the car mover repaired, you win better bragging rights dragging stuff out with the 401. Did someone find a home for the Lion Gardiner?

I noticed after the repairs to the bridge that there is a slight jog in the track alignment at the west end of the approach. What caused it? Will that get corrected as passenger service is extended?

In Kingston on Saturday CMRR's participation in Kingston's 'Operation Clean Sweep' included a thorough cleaning of the ROW from O'Neil St. to Westbrook Lane. Both litter and large items were removed by crews and taken in the side dump to Cornell St. for later disposal. Just west of Chandler Dr., the railroad loaded several tons of tie remnants into a 30-yd. contaner and cleaned up several piles of debris which had been dumped adjacent to the tracks. The crew included Earl Pardini, Al Schoessow, Steve Gollow, Raphael Demeglio, Walt Otto, Bob Blake, Frank Libihoul, John Patane, Peter Fluchere, Jim Bruck, Ron Epstein, and myself.

A work train coupled onto the Lion Gardiner at around 6 P.M. and pulled it and CNJ 4322 east and fully over C-9 for a photo op requested by a reporter from 'Railpace Newsmagazine'. Before departing east, crews were photographed standing next to the consist on the high fill just before the Rte. 209 crossing. The coaches are now tied down just east of Gil's farm crossing @ MP 5.31.

Amazing job fellas! Keep up the great work!!!

Is there any problems with the crossing at 209 that could be encountered? I mean other than actually stopping traffic, of course!!

Does the crossing need to be rebuilt, are there any broken rails in the street, etc? Basically what im wondering is is the crossing the next major hurdle for expansion past there, or is it a relatively minor issue, and where is the next major problem, other than tie replacement, located?

Agreed. I'd like to see the CMRR boys simply render the trail people irrelevant.
Be nice to see them make Shokan before lease is up

Looking at all the great work your group is doing I can't help but wonder what the Catskill Mountain Railroad could do with $2 million. Politicians are so clueless it makes me sick....

Not all politicians. Many legislators support our efforts and encourage us to continue.
