Nope we dont.

Company matching would have to part of a collective bargaining agreement. So far, it's not been "agreed" upon. Who knows what the future may bring?

OK, Listen up, boys and girls.. As a recently retired 42 year veteran of the UP, I am here to tell you, sign up for the 401(k) plan!!

The 401(k) on the UP is administered by Vanguard, and they are a very good place for you retirement money. They have numerous funds that you can invest in, and you can split your money into as many funds as you want. You can move your money between funds on line.

Figure out how much you can afford, then add 5 to 10% and put that much into your 401(k). Don't forget, you do not pay taxes on this money until you withdraw it.

UPRR, you need to rethink your investment. You have all your eggs in one basket. I know the UP stock has done well (I put 10% of my money in UP stock) but it is just not a good idea to have all your money in one place, you need to diversify.

I know that with house payments, car payments, kids, etc. it is hard to put money away for retirement, but believe me, once you sign up for the 401(k), you will not miss the money, and when it comes time to retire, you will be grinning ear to ear (I was).....
