Type 7 Overhaul Program

I believe 3693 is also in the original green and hasn't been overhauled. I'm not sure what it's fate is going to be though.

I'm talking only about cars that are in service.

I've had 3686 multiple times recently. I never realized how bad it looked.

With the teal door? Yes, I did.

Passed 3604 testing on the D line today.

With 3663 prep to ship now, we're down to 9 cars in the original green scheme. I got a ride on 3683 yesterday, which looks better than some of the others.

31 overhauls are in service now with 3632 accepted. I rode 3662 yesterday, which is one of the newest cars. Cleanest car I've been on in a long time.

So, the same company that is having difficulty overhauling Type 7's is building Acela replacements?

Not in the same facility.

In the last week or so, 3618 has returned, 3604 and 3649 have entered service, and 3663 has left for Alstom.

We're down to 8 trains in the original paint as 3669 is now at Riverside and prep to ship.

3683 is now being prepped for Alstom. Another original green car bites the dust.

Late report... saw one if I recall in Weston last Wed 9/7 about 8AM traveling west on the Ma$$ Pike

Counting up the in-service 3600's on NETransit, we're at 33 active rebuilds and 34 active non-rebuilds. Days away from passing the pole at a pretty significant project milestone when rebuilt 3618 finishes testing and returns to active service.

In-service Type 7's with the new paint job also now outnumber in-service Type 7's in the original or teal paint jobs 42 to 39.
