TRAINSPOTTING ON THE MORRISTOWN & ERIE, 2007

I was aware that 4231 was known for its problems, however I once thought that some one said that it was going to meet the welders torch. Guess that was some misleading information lol! okay any idea the last time it was run?

a welders torch fixes things, a cutting torch demolishes things.

The two Erie Mining Locos I mentioned were RS-11's 7205 and 7210.

Someones else's photo of the 2 alcos at Barr Yard, I never did see them in person.

These engines were in recent use at the grain elevator? Looks like someone has removed a few things either prior to their departure or during the trip. I can see a "fan" taking the headlight or marker but the air filters? Was 7210 a parts unit which kept the other running?

Is 7215 the only RS-11 that the M&E did not scrap?

No, two are in storage.

7204 - stored at Lake Junction
7205 - purchased June 2007
7206 - scrapped 4/07
7207 - scrapped 4/07

okay just making sure thanks.... most of them were scrapped not all of them.. got it. Still have not seen any M&E on the NJT line recently. Where have they been working the Whippany line again??

There are two switchers at Bayway - 20 and 557.

The 18, 19, 21, 22, 4216, 4231, and 7215 have all been working / resting / stored on the Whippany Line.

Is there anything at Tropicanna or did the rumors of lease termination accurate?

563 has also been at Morristown of late though neither it nor 18 were visible today or last Friday at Morristown.

On the train this morning it looks like I saw the 563 sitting at Chester Junction. Btk, the M&E 18 was also there so it looks like he headed down earlier today..

however I did see a rather interesting NJT combo earlier this week which consisted of a comet I in the lead with a GP-402 behind that than 2 other comet I's in the rear... just an interesting sight for me lol

I assume you meant last week, yes ? Can't recall which day.

I caught it too heading East at BAKER in what was obviously a dead-head move. I've never seen such an arrangement - quite unusual !
