Ticket daters and dater dies

Now that ticket sales have gone the automated route, what became of all those ticket daters and dater dies ? Did the LIRR toss them ?

I've noticed several dater-dies for sale on e-bay the past year. I remember seeing Flatbush Avenue and some others come up for auction.

Currently one from Lawrence is being offered.

If it was an Aurora dater, that is an orginal. They were replaced by Cosmos and then Ajax in the early 90s.

Eventually they were all junked. I am sure that there are alot out there.

As a point of information, the RR started gettign lawsuits of the use of the daters for carpal tunnel.
