In addition to the DMU+Trailer currently on TriRail, the agency is ordering an additional two powered DMUs and one more trailer.

It would be nice if Colorado Railcar updated their site, they have not done so since November, so I was kind of worried. They should have some more demonstrators to lease to systems for testing. On our Everettt-Seattle commuter rail line, ridership at first was not what it was expected, but it is growing. The track is relatively flat, and is a 3 car train plus locomotive. The DMU made sense. I even emailed a talk show host who was critical of the train about the CRC DMUS, never heard back. I guess he was afraid of losing even more listeners if he suddenly had an idea to make SOUNDER better.

Rotem will be assembling 32 FRA compliant DMU's for North Carolina. Railcar shells will be shipped to Philadelphia with final assembly at the old navy yard. Here is a link to a mock up version.
