Through the years since the SP merger, many on boards like this, there was talk about an east to west merger. I have problems with that for one major reason. Traffic. Great example is Ethanol. We have a lot of it on-line, and it goes to destinations that only can be served by NS or CSX. If you anger one partner, they will seek out another. Result is lost revenue for UP. Whereas, the status quo keeps the money flowing from both carriers. I think I would stick with the sure bet.
