I noticed that 67 shows checked baggage at Metropark. When did Metropark start offering checked baggage?

I'm currently on 2248, and it seems to be much less than sold out, despite the usual "please remove all bags from seats" announcements. My car (last) is fairly empty, with nobody having to share a seat with a stranger, although the next car forward looks to be more full. In fact, my car was full when I boarded in NWK, but now almost empty between NYP and STM. Perhaps it will fill up at STM or NHV.

That's the point of the announcement. If they don't, then people will hold seats because of whatever reason, probably not wanting a stranger to sit next to them.

No problem with a stranger in the next seat. Just do what everybody does on an airplane: ignore them!

The 2016 Thanksgiving week schedules are out on the website (only via the booking feature for now). The commuter extra runs seem to be alive and well; following the same schedule as the last few years.

Great to see the push for enhanced service during the Thanksgiving peak. Looking forward to five (or less) years from now when Amtrak is able to run an even more robust Thanksgiving travel schedule.

It'll be interesting to see what NJT forks over this year. I'm hearing it will not be MUs.
