I have alot to post, pics will come later.
All of these were in Altoona on 8/15/09 ones not at the shop will be listed as "running" though ones at the shop may still be operating. The SD50s I believe will soon be repainted in NS black and turned into SD40Es.

I counted about 4 or 5 Ex Conrail units in the Yard just East of the Runway while flying into Newark, NJ on 8/29/09 soory no cab numbers could not see them from the hight that we were at maybe less than 1000 feet or so??

I was recently reading a thread on another site where most members and posters are railroad employees, and there were many comments by the NS people about how when they show up for work, the last thing they want to see is a consist with an ex Conrail unit leading.....or anywhere in the consist for that matter.......seems that 10 years down the road from the takeover that the CR units are pretty well worn out....drafty, loading problems, noisy, ect. No one had a good word about them except that the SD-40's loaded and pulled well, but that they were loud rattletraps with cabs that the crews had to yell across to each other to be heard and the noise gets very tiring when they're on them for 10-12 hours.
