Train lined up to help food bank send aid south


AUBURN, MAINE — Two railroad cars loaded with 200,000 pounds of food, water and supplies will pull out from a warehouse Monday, destined for the Gulf Coast to help hurricane victims.

Very cool that they did this. One of the guys in our company, his father in law owns a water business and we were able to get a skid of water from them, and deliver it to SHI at the last minute - Bob Drake got it on the boxcar before it was totally loaded (thanks to them for letting us sneak that water on board!).

That was a really cool thing that they did - who ever would have thought of that??!!

One wonders how long the loads would take to get to New Orleans if they were headed south via Guilford. Probably a week just to get from Danville Junction to Selkirk. :(
