Today's WPCA51 had NS 5287 and NS 5278 for power with 15 cars, 9 of them being grey Conrail stone hoppers for the SRNJ.

Forty years ago, Jim Laessle bought a PRR cabin car that had also been been used by PRSL and had it put in his back yard with a fictitious number. It is now 100 years old, built May 1917. On Wednesday it was loaded onto a trailer and taken away.
On Thursday it was delivered to new owner CMSL.

Hi all- long time lurker and first time posting here. Was down in Pleasantville in Atlantic County twice this past week and managed to see the SRNJ passing through each time I was there. I got a video and some pictures the first time around from West Atlantic City here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrxPTDGigPY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Locomotive is SR3578 leading and SR3517 at the back. There was a gray locomotive near the end with a "W" logo that I couldn't really identify, but figured this was the best place to get help with that. There were about 28 hoppers with what I guess is crushed stone in the consist. When I was back later in the week, I saw another train go through with more hoppers and what looked like glass carriers. I guess the stone was coming out of AE Stone out on Doughty Road, which is one of the last customers on the line besides the lumber yard.

The train that you saw and posted is indeed a unit stone train, originating at the Haines and Kibblehouse quarry in Birdsboro, PA. It is handed off to SRNJ at Winslow from CSAO. The grey locomotive that you saw is SRNJ 800, an Alco M420 painted in the scheme of the Ontario and Western railroad which once ran in east-central New York.

Looks like you caught SRNJ stone train "WJPV".

#800 (gray locomotive with the "W" logo) is an M420 done up in a New York, Ontario & Western paint scheme. Although to the best of my knowledge, it never saw service with that RR.

Nice video btw!

Fantastic shots John! Glad someone was out there to catch this! Also, good to see some BNSF power back in South Jersey!

FWIW, if you watch the Rochelle, IL webcam on Trains.com you will regularly see runthrough CSX power on the BNSF line, sometimes even leading or in a solid consist. I've also seen unit CSX grain trains with CSX power. A few CSX and NS units have also shown up mixed in on UP trains.
