Today's Q418 had 4 units in YN2 livery out of 5. Two were back to back standard cab locomotives.
The recent K720 power was tacked onto the front of the original power lineup.

Cove Road-

The latest South Jersey Trains video for late June 2016 is out.

Lots of heavy freight action in this one, including Union Pacific visitors and a rare SD40N. There are also several C40-9 standard cab locomotives throughout the video and a nice Q418 with a few different EMD varieties.

Hello everyone, I'd like to head down and check out some action in South Jersey one of these days but I'm really not too sure where to go! Any spots where I'd be guaranteed to catch a move?

Cove Road in Pennsauken or North Broad St in Woodbury. State St. or 27th in northeast Camden both have bridges that cross Pavonia yard (not a safe location to walk around). Under the Delair bridge, from the parking lot on Derousse Ave in Pennsauken. Also from the Billingsport Road bridge over the yard in Paulsboro. Pavonia/Camden is the hub for all South Jersey rail freight, and all trains leaving the region go over the Delair bridge. The further out you are on the various secondaries, the more sparse the traffic. If you only have a few hours start at Cove Road.

Yes, agreed. Get to Cove Road by 7-7:30am and stay until 12 noon. You should catch at least 1 train but most likely 2-3. Maybe even 4 if you're lucky. Monday's are slower so try to avoid going on that day.

Sunday and Monday are also the slowest days on the Vineland and Pennsgrove secondaries. I love along the Penns in the west end of Woodbury and Sunday/Monday's CA-11 is sometimes as short as 25 cars. Runs later on those days also. Tuesday to Saturday is steady.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if the track work for the new Paulsboro port is complete? The whole area is pretty much impossible to access or view without tresspassing. I know a balloon track was being constructed that goes right up to the dock and loops back. I wonder if and when that facility will come on line, and how much of an uptick in traffic we'll see through the area.

Not sure. I think a lot of the track has been installed throughout the port. Last I heard, Conrail wants to build a wye track through the property of the adjacent Railroad Construction Company to facilitate the movement of 70 car slab trains without having to break up the train like they do with present operations at Holt in Gloucester City.

Two recent 'South Jersey Trains' videos for July and late July 2016-

July 2016-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOrkajbCFl8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

July 5th - July 17th, 2016

We'll see the new WPCA17 assignment in this edition. They are a relief crew for the WPCA11 and basically any other job that needs to be done. They also sign up on Sunday mornings, assemble the Millville train, and take it south in daylight, making a few new shots available that can normally only be shot at night. We'll see them in Wenonah and Clayton.
Also featured here is the first appearance of the Nickel Plate Road heritage unit, NS 8100, in South Jersey. The engine arrived on 38G as the second of three units.
Another first for the area is a visit by an NS Tier 4 locomotive. NS 3622 arrived on empty slab train 61N and is seen at CP Brown after dropping the train on the Controlled Siding.
Finally, a pair of CSX engines in YN2 livery powering Q418, YPCA05 working a slab train over Newton Creek (shot from a new vantage point), and a few locals compliment the rest of the movie.

Late July 2016-

July 17th - July 26th, 2016

The Winchester & Western will be featured in this video making a pickup in Seabrook on the ex-CNJ Deerfield Branch and returning back to the yard in Bridgeton. One of the engines used that day is the 732, which has recently undergone a major change having it's high hood nose chopped off and a fresh coat of paint after the work was done. We'll see them at a few different locations in Upper Deerfield and Bridgeton.
Also highlighted is a heat exchanger move on the Trenton Subdivision. Only a handful of these are built and moved per year and are quite a sight.
Hope you enjoy the video and please check out the South Jersey Trains Facebook page for more photos and videos.

John, in your second video, the string of tanks coming east out of the WW yard across Burlington Rd., were they empties coming out of storage? It seems like the Winchester and Western knows how to run a business-- as far as I can tell every industry located along the line gets service from them regularly. Quite a few cars in long-term storage there too- They have a good number of cars stored now down near Manumuskin Jct. The two tracks east of the wye are currently both filled, as well as the southern leg heading toward Dorchester and Leesburg, is full of fairly new open hoppers, all the way to the end of the track near Port Elizabeth. Several dozen more in the no-mans land between Manumuskin and Rt. 55, and a few random tankers parked in downtown Millville.

Possibly. There is also a massive refrigeration concern in Rosenhayn, so some of those cars could be for them.
I don't know for sure.

I'm not 100% sure but I do know those tankers were already in the yard and were being drilled out. There are always tankers in their yard and I'd guess some or most of them are being stored there. If you look in the comments section of that video, there is user zgww 2182. Hit 'reply' on one of his comments and ask for further information. He is very helpful and always glad to answer a question. If you can't for some reason, I will ask for you if you'd like and post the response.

Coaches 5715 and 5721 were bought by another railroad and will be shipped out on flat cars-

Those cars went out on 39G this morning (Thanks Bob). Has anyone determined where they are headed? It's also odd that the trucks do not appear to have been shipped out with the bodies.

Big MAC NS 7201 led NS 39G Tuesday.
YPCA60 came off the River LINE at 9:35.
