I've read somewhere that C&NW had ordered a small number (12?) of SD80MACs shortly before the UP buyout. The order was subsequently cancelled by UP. Is this true?

From what I understand, CNW was thinking of buying them, but an order was never actually placed. Additional speculation on this can be found here:
