It looked like one of the F40's went by the other day on the pvl. It was dark out at the time, but I'm pretty sure it was an F40. So it appears the two remaining ones roll on.

The GP40FHs were due for retirement by 2006 with the delivery of the PL42s (the first five units that were converted into MP20 switchers were retired then).

Does anyone have a current listing of remaining NJT F40's. Here in Boston area, the MBTA will eventually replace the F40PH "Screamer" fleet with successful delivery of the new MPI HSP-46 locomotive, which just started to arrive on site.

4120
4124

There's a few more scattered around the property that will not, in all likelihood, ever run again.

It's been a little while since I last saw 4120 and 4124. So does anyone know if they are still in service? I used to see them on the PVL alot.
