To the best of my knowledge it was a Smurfit a Stone facility. Receiving inbound loads of paper rolls to create cardboard boxes.

Yes Smurfit Stone was on Pickering Street.They did get spools of paper in for corrugating.
I am referring to Warehouse on Freestone Avenue East of Rt 16 crossing. I remember it being used in the 70's too and also remember switch on the permanently aligned to the siding.

That freight house was rebuilt with a smaller footprint.
There is only the one track that comes to a bumper at Route 66 in Portland.
On the other side of the road is the Anderson Feed Store.
Trailer trucks deliver there now.

I believe this is the warehouse in question on the east side of Route 66. I have drawn a hypothetical red line of where the spur may have been. If anyone knows for sure please let us know!
