Hi all,

I just realized that the Library at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania has a ton of info on the Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad!

Has anyone been to the archive? (I'm sure many have been to the museum)

is there anything i need to know in advance before going?

One thing you should know is that Kurt Bell, their archivist (and very knowledgeable) was a victim of the latest purge that cut the museum's staff in half. (He found a home at the State Archives in Harrisburg.) An assistant is still there, but I have no idea how the cuts have affected access and service in that area. You'd be smart to contact them in advance.

You need an appointment to view the archives, and they aren't available until January 2010 at the earliest due to some building renovations.

The new contact person is Bradley Smith [[email protected]]. The last time I went, they only had hours on Tue-Thursday. This may be reduced further now.

Good luck!
