This is a really obscure Vermont short line, and the only place it occurs on the Internet is here:

http://www.vuhs.org/erails/bh.html

The ICC lists is as operating 6m, 1906-8, and that it was then "electrified".

Hilton & Due in their book on interurbans (p325) has the following:
"Proposed to build from Burlington to Windsor(!), south of White River Junction. Graded 15m to Hinesburg and laid some track, but apparently was neither electrified nor offered service".

This was some proposal, and would have had some interesting engineering works in the White Mountains. Has anybody got any idea of the route it intended to take, also any info on the freight operations that seem to have taken place in its short history?

FYI, Earl Pleasants (www.earlpleasants.com) lists it as 1902, no further info.

I briefly lived in Hinesburg - last part of 05, first part of 06 and would drive past the Golf Course every day to and from work. Never knew anything about a railroad proposed.

And BTW, those are the GREEN Mountains.... the Whites are in N.H.
