Anyone here remember any or have any pics/videos of other C420 trips from the 1980s?

Steve: The picture and itinerary posted above was from the September 10,1989
LIST-NRHS Caboose Coach Trip. The consist was four hacks; three 2900s coaches
and four more hacks for a total of eight cabooses. The weather was hot and humid
and the three 2900 series car air conditioning offered a welcome respite to the heat.
Riders had a choice of riding half of the trip in the caboose and coaches - I chose to
ride the cabooses first than the coaches later. This picture was of turning the train on
the Garden-Mitchel Secondary after the photo stop at Clinton Road before heading
back west to Jamaica to complete the trip. I was one of many car hosts on this trip
and remember that it was my first Chapter rail fan excursion after joining LIST-NRHS
earlier in 1989...MACTRAXX

Thanks. I had this title: LIST Freight Branch Excursion September 10, 1989 Farewell to AlCO C420's
LIRR maps by Jeff Erlitz and Bill Madden c.1970s Info: Richard F. Makse

Was I mistaken, or?

Steve: The September 10, 1989 LIST fan trip was to me known as the "Caboose Coach trip" remembering how it was promoted by LIST.

The rear caboose had a small drumhead along with wooden signs that read "KABIN KAR TREK" that were made by longtime LIST member and LIRR freight conductor
JJ Earl.
The farewell to the two ALCO C420 locomotives 225 and 229 was a good memory...

Here's part 2 of the 1986 Project 39 trip to Greenport. Slides didn't come out to good due to all the dark skies and rain. From the slides it seems that they made a stop eastbound at Ronkonkoma. I added some photos from that era to make the slideshow a little longer.

The October 5th 1985 trip, is this the one that went to Montauk, where the C420 broke down? I guess a geep or an MP15 cane to the rescue?

Sorry fellas I got the date mixed up I think it was the March 22, 1980 trip that had the breakdown.
