Here's a photo of car 902 taken at Billerica Shops Sept.14,1987. You can see by the aluminum sash windows and stove chimmneys that this was intended for use as a bunk car for MOW crews.

Nice pic, thanks BMcdr. Interesting, they spent money to repaint a work train car. They still have quite a few MofW hoppers and other equipment that is in pre guilford paint.

They spent money to repaint the whole wreck train around 1992 or so, including a caboose. They still have quite a few MOW hoppers in pre-pre guilford paint, like MKT and Great Northern.

So, I wonder if they're going to spend any money this year to paint their business train, or any other locomotives for that matter? I'm not holding my breath. :-)

well, by "this year" some stuff has already been painted.

They are repainting the 2 passenger cars tey have left for Pan Am, and are leasing them to New Brunswick Southern for their excursion train.

GP40 #370 was repainted in the pan Am scheme this year.

MBTA F40PH #1006 was painted by Guilford before returning to the MBTA.

Are the passenger cars being painted Pan Am, or NBSR? Any idea why they're being leased to NBSR?

And more importantly, do we have a reliable source for this information?

What do you mean by this, are the MOW hoppers ex-MKt and GN or does BNSF and UP still have MOW hoppers in MKT GN paint?

Maine Central had some ex-MKT ballast cars, some are still in MKT red paint with the letters MKT painted out, but if you look at them close you can see the letters. B&M had some ex-GN hoppers, on some the old Great Northern logo is showing through. You can see them on the "Fallen Flags" website.

Thanks Mick.

With the business train cars getting a repaint, I wonder if the locomotives (516 and 517) will get repainted, or if the train will be pulled by two Pan Am painted locos. As Guilford gray locos and a PAR blue business train would look weird.

ST 100 and ST 101 business train were painted Pan Am Dark Blue and were released this week. The two cars were spotted today at NMJ and I just received word they are en route to Mattawamkeag for use on an NBSR excursions August 3rd.
