I don't remember any of the details, but I vaguely remember hearing that there were occasionally running gear problems with the "things", including one that got one set out in the middle of nowhere on the NYSW. Perhaps that goblin is back.

Re 41, *IF* I had to guess, I'd bet on clogged fuel filters.

RRPX 43 seen tonight on the DFT!
  by Sandy Burton

Earlier this week, the two EMDs that were seen at the sanding tower in Olean were 6510 and 6084. 636, 637 and 638 were at Falconer. On Sunday OL-1 (the crew's name) went to Hornell with 432, 431 and 630 on MEHN. 4228 was the yard switcher on Monday and Tuesday. The DFT on Monday was powered by 41 and 630. It had 73 cars +/-. HNME had 4264, 426, 431 and 430 west to east. At least that was how they lined up at sundown. 430 and 431 were turned while we were dining. 43 and Traveller also was present at Olean.

At Lakeville, 418 was in the shop for a 92-day inspection. 550 was outside with WNYP stenciled on the cab and 428 written in chalk nearby. 420 and 425 were the road power. 72 worked the yard.

Nothing ran on the B&H on Tuesday or Thursday as far as I could tell. 424 and 423 were in the house at Cohocton with 5 and 422 and 4 were outside. Also outside were 77, 3660 and 3674.

Six Axle Road Engines

The remaining six axles are the ones most heavily freeze damaged and they for the most part are considered not repairable. Surely they have become parts sources.
