The structure houses storage lockers as well as the bathrooms. My parents didn't take either myself or my brother on the beach train when we were growing up, but I do remember how it looked in the early spring after the winter. They were always digging the tracks back out from the sand.

I always wanted to ride it when I was a kid, but my parent's always made an excuse and I never got to go. I'm happy to have ridden it when I had the chance for it is gone and now only exsists in these pictures.I remember another train ride that I rode on the Casino Pier at Seaside Heights back in the 60's... BOY how time FLIES...
I wonder what ever became of the tracks and equipment after the ride was torn up. Did it move to another location? Did someone else buy the railroad and move it?
I believe the sand railroad's former location in Point Pleasant is now occupied by the Sky Ride that's next to the boardwalk. Too bad this great little railroad isn't around today so that many of today's youth could enjoy.

You guys are absolutely right about there not being a Sky Ride in Point Pleasant. I did get it mixed up with Seaside Heights. Trainbuff109
