I noticed on some of the posts mounted about half way up there is some kind of rectangle that looks like a LED display, it may be some kind of warning device. I'll need to look closer.

It’s not commonly seen here in NJ, but I have seen it used at crossings that see don’t see many cars and only a few trains per week.

At least they added yield signs in conjunction with the standard crossbuck.

If I had to guess, and it is only a guess, They opted for something different since these crossings have been removed for nearly 20 years and the last "regular" movements were nearly 50 years ago.

Good point. Perhaps the yield sign will at least give some incentive to slow down since most ignore the crossbucks anyways unless a train is literally right on the road.
