On the return trip we broke down in Amagansett and took the siding east of the station to wait a rescue engine. Anyone else remember that trip?I had been told this was the Farewell Trip for the C420s. Sept. 10th, 1989. But, perhaps others can verify the last passenger run for the C420s trip to Montauk with the breakdown?

Consequently, they got cut up with thousands of miles in service still on them. I think three L1's still exist, though not all in service.I created a new post on the L1s fate.
