Hydrogen train

Eversholt trains is offering a hydrogen powered DMU. It will be suitable for lines not equipped with wires. As it does not emit harmful exhausts it will be very suitable for modern traction, and the hydrogen can be derived from electricity - itself generated from wind or water.

All I know is what is in the link. If they are using commercially available hydrogen I assume it would be from fossil fuels or nuclear electricity. But potentially it could be from solar, wind or other renewables - not carbon based. It would be a useful step towards decarbonising transport.
