Sounds like it may be another year before repairs are made on the Utica line.It did say that the NYS&W Railroad repaired the wash out in Earlville but the other repairs have not even been put out to bid yet because of more red tape that the CCIDA has to complete yet.
oh wow more delays.cut the red tape and get it done.

The videos of the NYSW are outstanding in my book.
1. CAPTIONS are great showing location and where cars are being delivered.
2. CAMERA is steady and you don't get sea sick watching the freight.
3. WHOLE freight is shown.

Obviously YOU KNOW YOUR HISTORY.. Have a large Lackawanna / Erie Lackawanna library myself and Paris Hill was he ruling grade on the DL&W per Thomas Taber. Since the Utica Branch was never written about extensively, not many people realize that.

Good to see these locations again. Been 20+ years since I walked these tracks.

My dream film would be to put the camera on the nose of the engine and photograph the entire trip from Utica to Sangerfield from the engineer' point of view in real time..
Do you have any pull to try and do this?

Please keep it up!!

Thank you, Lackman, for your very kind words!

Nope, I don't have any connections these days to the NYS&W.

Here's a short video, uploaded to YouTube, showing a southbound freight heading through South Utica:

There was a lot of hamburger made over the years at that location !

There was also a milk station there called Marshalls on the north side of the crossing. Building burned in early 1982 just before NYSW took over.

Why are they using two GPs to haul two cars around?
