Those cabs are pretty well insulated, it wouldn't be too much louder than just one screamer alone.

Two screamers.. Hope that engineer had top notch hearing protection.
They both aren't screaming because hep is only supplied from one loco. You can't hear much difference between 1 and 2.

Sure, with the air conditioning you can't hear much! REALLY? With the windows and both doors wide open there isn't much sound protection.

Good point.

1004 and 1008 were pulling a five-set. Spotted idling on Track 6 at North Station at about 5:55pm.

I didn't have a clear view from inside 352...but it sure looked like double GP40's on 305 Friday morning...should become 310 inbound.

Well, the 'Wizards of Boston Engine Terminal' worked their magic yet again and 'Mr. Commuterr Rail', F40 #1000 is back on the road again after suffering a major road failure in Fitchburg, MA at the end of June. It spotted it this afternoon holding near the Noerth Station drawbridges with an inbound consist. It was paired up with control car #1637 for those inclined to look for it.Like a cat 'with 1000 lives', it is back for now...

Good to hear that 1000 lives to see another day!

Not an MBTA consist, but it was interesting and it was on the North Side: two Amtrak locomotives were pulling three [private?] Morristown & Erie coaches past BET at about 5:40pm yesterday, and appeared to be heading out on the Fitchburg Line.

The M&E cars were from the Maine Eastern headed back home to NJ. They were going on the Grand Jct when you spotted them.

I guess just an engine isn't technically a consist, but PAR 601 just went barreling by here on her own, heading northwest

Pan Am Railway movements aren't unusual in our territory. Unless they are pulling MBTA cars.

Sounds like AY-4 returning to Ayer after dropping off the Rotems.
