Police activity at New Providence this morning (8/3)

Does anyone know what was going on at the New Providence station this morning? A bunch of police (both NJT and NP PD) were out at the station, blocking vehicle and pedestrian access to the small parking lot (the one leading the tunnel under the track to the platform). Everyone ended up having to walk along Springfield Ave to the stairs down. Train service was unaffected; 6410 rolled in a couple of minutes late, just like always.

New Providence: TARGET!

Police taped off the scene and notified the Union County Bomb Squad. Both suitcases were X-rayed by Bomb Squad members and found to be empty.

Shock of shocks.

See something, say something.... unless it inconveniences the people of New Providence during rush hour.

I saw a weird engineer sticking his head out of the locomotive window giving me the shocker while screaming yeah!

So, a seeming practical joke. That's troubling...

Perhaps or it could be a "test". There have been documented cases of NJ Transit's security being tested to see what kind of reaction occurs. The bad guys are still out there.

Very very true.....and yes, plenty of bad guys are still out there.....

Maybe it was Otto trying to "Ban" people from boarding at New Providence?

If that was the case, wouldn't he have just deleted the whole station? Either that or maybe he could issue board"ing" warnings to anyone getting on the train there.

There is a lot going on there. People trying to board trains at New Providence were issued Board'ing Warnings by Otto. Likewise, trains entering the station were just flat out deleted and banned by Otto. Where will this end? Stop the insanity!

If that's the case, there would be wormholes appearing where New Providence station stood, along with any other station Otto feels like deleting.
