Here are two photos I took from the LNE bridge (on the Washginton Twp side of Lehigh gap). What an amazing view the train crews must have had! The LNE is a walking trail now. Not maintained though just a narrow trail. Also of interest there are ties on the side of the mountain. The guys tearing out the LNE rail in 1961 must have got lazy and just threw ties down the side of the mountain. They are still there to this day and you can still see the tie plate marks. Also note the telegraph pole. I don't know why this one was not torn down. There are a few here and there along the LNE row that weren't razed.
