Small question....

Thumbing thru some books last night and in several photos of the Tavern Lounge cars I noticed that one of the end windows had a windshield wiper and the other did not.

Was this only for potential reverse movements in foul weather where a crew member would sit and be in radio contact with the head-end/engineer ?

thanks.

I used to turn the seat, after asking the attendent to face the rear of the train. If needed I turned the wiper on. I was never questioned. I was asked to replace the seat, the way I found it, when I was done.
