Pan Am Worcester Main Line

That explains why I passed a crane on 290 southbound today around 0830, I also saw another crane going by on 495 southbound at Ward Hill around 1445. How many over the road cranes does Pan Am have?

The derailment is cleared and track back in service at Burncoat St in Worcester. The cars on yesterdays POSE were interchanged to CSX this afternoon after traveling over this track. So only a day and a half behind schedule, not bad! This included the 4 box cars that went off the track (they had been put onto the Greendale Siding).

0524/01-26-2018 D-3 advised SEPO with the 7523 that there would be a radio-free foreman at Greendale to do a walkover at the derailment area. D-3 formalized the approach at 0533 saying the C would get off, and his radio would be the communications means for the head-end, the foreman then driving the C however far east to get back to the power. The headroom for that move would be provided by Form D G-305 Line 2ing from Burncoat to X25, time effective 0535, D-3 asking for SEPO to call when they were on the move, but nothing else was heard as of 0645 to, from, or about SEPO, not even from the 7.8 talker, even during the 0625-0645 window when I was in its range.

Per D3 radio transmissions SEPO MEC 3404 has several cars on the ground, but upright, somewhere on Worcester line at this time.

Several cars derailed upright in the middle of the SEPO train at or near the Clinton west switch. Crew is being taxied to Greendale to bring up the CSX power sitting there and pull the rear cars away from the Sterling st crossing, which is being blocked. Presumably they will take these cars back to Greendale and bring the power back to Clinton to aid in the re-railing.

All true. Looks like SEPO was moving onto the Clinton siding. Power is stopped behind the CVS on the siding. I didn't see anything off the rails all the way down to the Sterling St. crossing. The west switch would be the obvious location but I could not see anything in the dark.

Is SEPO/POSE traffic way, way down these days? I noticed a very short POSE in Worcester a couple of weeks ago and last week POSE was tied down on the Clinton siding. These trains need to be relatively short to use the Clinton siding.

Sounds like things are back to normal. 0438/02-16-2018 was when POSE got its Line 2 for MP X25 to Burncoat made effective, and 0638 was when the 7.8 gave a no defects.

Just heard D3 at 8:15 /2/16/18 in conversation with track foreman, track out of service MPX 16 to 20. They probably are making repairs to get trains back up to ten mph!

That line is sad.

A probable POED with 22 cars was through Wachusett at 0457/02-16-2018, so not much rerouting seems to be taking place.
Wonder when Poland Springs yanks the plug...

At 1820, some cars were being shoved westbound through Clinton across the Sterling St. crossing. At 1847, a train was going EB through S. Lancaster. However, the cars that had been left by the Hannaford and over the Route 62 bridge throughout were still there afterwards.

Yes a pretty sad state of affairs when in the yr 2018 you can't even keep a train on the tracks at 10 mph!!!
