i think it is still on a desk for NJT. at or near the bottom of a pile.

however this will probably go up sometime withi the next 25 years.(my opinion)

Right now this project unfortunately boils down to money. Aside from some opposition, I think that if the funds were available then we might see some movement on this.

Not really. Let's just transpose on both considering it commonly is more talked about here anyway and this forum is more frequented.

No.

Seeing as nothing about this project is set in stone and this forum gets way more traffic, I say leave things as they are. Let's please not have HBLR/TRE influencing decisions here on rr.net.

It's staying here until something sures up about it. Only about 140 pages to go until that happens, at least, according to Jeff.

No one saw the proposals for extension? I believe they are in another thread, links to the pages anyway.

It is customary to provide the link if you mention something you saw on another page, otherwise, don't mention it at all.

And it's Nick's call. And I know Nick knows my theory was tongue-in-cheek (about the 200 pages, anyway). It would be funny if it works out that way, though.

Found it:

Cruiser did note the storage area would be moved from wherever it was on those maps to near tonnelle ave station.

there hasn't been any updates to the site in nearly 3 years.

A major problem for this project is the question
on convenience for the commutersto NYC that it's
supposed to be geared towards.Does it make
their trip any more so ?? it might for those working
in Lower Manhattan ,but for those bound anywhere else in NYC
it doesn't. Even withThe extension of the Flushing #7 line to
the West Side you still have to make a 3rd transfer
at 42nd St. if you're going anywhere else but the
immediate Times Square area, and walk from the ferry slip
to the subway station besides.Whereas though the traffic through
the Lincoln Tunnel during rush hour can be daunting,
once you're at The Port Authority terminal you have
fairly easy access to any mode of public transport to any
destination in NYC.You could argue that the extension
isn't solely for commuters, but the reality is who else will
use it to make this worthwhile ??

There are several market segments that the light rail will benefit, it's not just about getting commuters to midtown when looking at light rail as compared to commuter rail.
