According to the AP report I've seen, some Spanish and U.S. authorities are not lending much credibility to the sketches, saying they weren't sure the drawings were even of GCT.

It's hardly a surprise that Grand Central and other high-traffic areas are potential targets, and one does not need a lot of technical information to pick out a spot to cause a lot of damage. Still, these reports are getting a lot of attention and will only give more support to those who would prefer to do away with all photography of such 'sensitive' subjects.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal has prominent signs forbidding any sketching, photography, recording anywhere inside the terminal without writte permission of the PAPD.

The only time the MTA Police act is when someone is drawing or filming the platform tracks. You will see artists sketching all the time in the main concourse or near the Oyster Bar.
