Montauk Wye - Industrial Rd Crossing

So, to clarify, did this whole consist actually get turned on the wye?

No, the train is never spun. The equipment is sent to Montauk on Saturday nights in the summer. It sits on the west leg of the Wye until Sunday night, when it returns back to Jamaica. The equipment is generally not used, but it's on stand by if another another train has equipment trouble.

So the set on the wye is a "protect set",is that a set that would layover in Speonk normally?
That would be a shorter deadhead move than from Jamaica.

According to the manipulation sheets from July 2017, the train is made up in Jamaica Storage Yard using 3 cars from 3653 (non-passenger train from pt jeff using 658's equipment) and 1 car from 2711.

How is Industrial Rd crossing protected when the LIRR moves across the road? Flags, conductor with STOP sign, or?
