The old MP ones I should have been more specific.

No, some MP SD40-2s had DB.... they were classified as SD40-2C. Ballasted heavier and used for pool unit coal drags with UP and Rio Grande (?).

You are correct, although they were also pooled with BN unit coal trains too. :wink: They were also built to BN specs, I believe.

SD40-2's in the 700 and 3000 series do not have dymanic brakes

SD40-2's in the 6000 series have dynamic brakes

they were ordered to be used in pool service with BN although they appeared on other roads too
