A metra switcher loco was pulling a 100 engine east at Franklin Park. I couldn't catch the number though. Probably coming from bensenville.

424 has found its way to RI while 119 ran and failed on SWS yesterday, causing a cancellation.

Does anyone know where 402 and/or 423 are running this weekend? They both now appear to have horns that were formerly on 8400-series cabcars.

405 has been on the break-in train with 402 for the last week. Another hunk-a-junk hits the rails. I guess we will be stuck with that one too on the north side. 414 is still parked with 614 and 611 at Western Ave. Doesn't look like its going anywhere any time soon. Last week trains were delayed one morning because 2216 had an equipment failure. Another 400, there's a shocker. We passed it on the way downtown and there was someone riding in the cab, probably to keep it running. I am getting more and more service alerts due to equipment failures since they moved the Burlington's 400s over to the north side and took our F40s. If this keeps up, we should get a rebate on our fares due to unreliable equipment.

Unfortunately 400's are not the only equipment failing.. since coming to RI, 184 has been plagued with problems.. in fact the unit has not run solo since. On Thursday, 5 different mechanical failures occurred on RI during the late afternoon/early rush... fact is mechanical failures are occurring more often with improper upkeep.

136 is also on RI.. leading 202 out to Joliet last night.

416 took a trip on HC last night, leading a double header on #921. More than likely this will be switched to an RI set over the weekend and will head to 47th St. on Monday.

It appears 136 has gone back north after a one day appearance on RI.

Does anyone have any info on the whereabouts of 148? I heard that it returned to the UP lines last year, and I saw it one day in early December 2012 pulling an outbound UP-W Line train into the Melrose Park station. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it since nor have I heard of it running on either the UP-N or UP-NW Lines. I also never see it at Ogilvie Transportation Center!

For much of last year, I often saw 148 on the MD-N/W Lines, but haven't seen it on the MD-W Line at all this year. Is it restricted to the MD-N, or is it on another line or just simply MIA?

It is on the UP. I was on a train powered by it three times in January and once in April on the UP-NW

Hmmmm, ok. Maybe I need to spend more time by the UP-W if I want to catch 148.
