7113 is on the Milwaukee and has had the BNSF logos removed. I would take that as Metra now owning the car, where it can run on any line.

It is worth noting here that the 8400's are not able to run with MP36's due to electrical problems. Now why the MD has gotten some 8400's is totally beyond me...unless perhaps they were testing the rebuilt cars to see if the electrical problems still existed?

I know right. Its just pretty weird to notice that because in 2003-2005, there have been 8400's in the back and 400's in the lead on the BNSF. Also, if you may have noticed, the rebuilt 8400s have smaller numbers instead of the bigger ones that were put on last summer after their rebuild. No idea why. Last night I saw rebuilt 8475 on RI #419. It is the highest out of all the 8400's that has ever been rebuilt. I think that the thing with rebuilding the SWS's 8400's could be the reason why 8448 is hanging over there.

AMTK84, again, the 8475 has indeed been rebuilt and is currently on the RI. Saw it again on Saturday. Do you think that is the reason why 8448 is on SWS?

Former BNSF car 7110 is the front car on train 2237 (the 10 car train).

The Milwaukee District/NCS currently has car 7401, normally a BNSF mainstay. It recently returned to service after being overhauled.

Here is an updated list of the 8400/7400's as of 8/3/12.

7400's: 7401, 7402, 7438, 7440, 7443, 7444, 7447, 7448, 7449, 7452, 7459, 7478, 7490, and 7495
8400's: 8400, 8401, 8402, 8403, 8405, 8406, 8407, 8408, 8409, 8410, 8413, 8414, 8415, 8417, 8418, 8420, 8421, 8423, 8424, 8428, 8431, 8443, 8444, 8446, 8448, 8449, 8453, 8457, 8458, 8460, and 8475

7402 is now on RI. Not sure though if the 8475 is still there. Maybe it went back to SWS.

Cabcar 8527 is the latest 8500 to migrate to the UP. It was the second car from the locomotive on a six-car set.

I live right next to the UP-W Line tracks, and I have seen about four 8500 series cab cars. 8520 and 8515 are two that I see most frequently.

According to my concern, I realize that cabcar 8501 has a really lousy horn. (From an 8400?) If anyone knows about it, please let me know.

8471 was indeed at Western Avenue over the weekend.

8501 has a K3LA with a #3A bell instead of a #4A bell. While I'm not sure, I don't think it's too far off track to hypothesize that the horn is one of the 3-chimers from an 8400.
