Is there an online repository of Maine Central technical drawings, such as signs, lettering, or structures?

Try...

I couldn't find a MEC historical society... but you might find some leads with the B&M folks.

The 470 Club might have some stuff, too.

I have ten drawings of (all four sides plus both first and second floor plans) of 1906-7 Portland Union Station. I put a post up on the MEC yahoo list about them, as I am going to be making copies of them for interested folks to purchase. Hope to get to kinko's next week and get a price etc. When I get that finalized I will post here that they are available and the final cost.

There is a site where I found drawings of a couple of Mountain Division buildings but I can't remember where it is.

I am just back from Portland and the Narrow Gauge Convention and heard that some Maine Central drawings are in the Maine Historical Society Archives. I did a search and found 347 drawings of railroad buildings in Col 2052

They don't appear to be on line.
It seems that when Guilford took over the MC it closed down St John St and allowed collectors in at $5.00 a head. Only what you could carry out was allowed. Of course you could get back in line for another load. You need to fine the right garage in Maine, or barn for the mother lode. Interesting story.
