What is the max speed when the GP40s (and GP39s if different) run on the NEC? And how does that compare to the max speed of the MARC electric units when running the same route? Is the speed limited by the locos or the cars?

I remember reading the GPs might run as fast as 100 on the NEC. Is that confirmed? What locations do they regularly reach that speed?

Watched a non-stop southbound train on the NEC's western most main at the Halethorpe station pass through at speed. Just to the south of the station are speed signs on the catnary that says 100. Would the non-stop train have been moving at 100 at that point?

I *think*:

GP40:100
GP39: 90
MP36: 90 (for now)
Electrics: 110 (limiting factor is the max speed for the Kawasaki bilevels - used to be 125)
