Cany anybody provide (or tell me where to find) the following information for M2-M4-M6 EMUs:

Rail Vehicle height (with pantograph retracted)

Rail Vehicle width

Rail Vehicle body length

Platform height / Rail Vehicle passenger compartment floor height

I assume M2, M4 and M6 are all the same or very close, so I'm not looking for info on each class individually, just the group as a whole.

All are 85' long, however M-4 and M-6s are in triplet sets, with M-2s as pairs.

Pulling out my Penn Central M2 Operator's Manual...

Car height (rail to top of roof):13' 0"
Car height (maximum, pantograph locked down): 14' 9"
Car width: 10' 6"
Car length over couplers: 85' 1.5"
Car height, rail to top of finish floor: 4' 3-1/16"

Naturally, these measurements apply to the M2. However, I'd be surprised if there were a significant difference for the M4/M6 cars.

Also, to note: M6s can handle the voltage beyond the New Haven interlocking, but cannot change on the fly. M2s and M4s cannot.

Ok what has that to do with the topic ???
M6's do have 25Kv capabilities and so do M4's but they do not have auto tap changers installed. even if they did they can not run east of shoreline jct due to fact than non of M equipment has ACSES cabsignaling. but lets stay on subject.

Thanks to all, and special thanks to MN Jim, for the information.
