Loram at Beacon park

Went by Beacon park yesterday (sat 11/27/10) and noticed what looked like a rail grinder with Loram on the side, however it is smaller than some of the other rail grinders I have seen in the past. it almost looked like the type used on trolly tracks on the MBTA.

can anyone expand on this???

I have seen this device a number of time over the past couple years here in NY. It is a small grinder, specially designed for grinding the tracks in and around switches at mainline control points. I have refered to it as the "pocket grinder".

The smaller grinders are used for light rail lines but also on Yard and secondary trackage...
