I'd like to take my son to see some parked P&W or Conrail engines or freight cars. I have looked every where and I guess I am looking in the wrong places. I travled RT 122 from Woonsocket to Uxbridge today and didn't find a thing. I guess the P&W does not run on weekends, only week night. So, where do they store these engies or where is the freight yard? Thanks

Matt; P&W has yards and engine houses in Worcester Ma and in Valley Falls RI. Both of these locations can be seen and photographed from public streets and parking areas. As far as the weekend goes there are crews that go on duty late Sunday I do believe, maybe some one has more specific info.

To add to PharmerPhil's post, I would suggest going to Worcester for a better view from the street on weekends. You can get closer to the units at Valley Falls, but that job only works M-F and the engines are stored inside a two-track garage built about 5 years ago by the P&W.
