CSXTs 579 and 574 hauled 89 through East Wye, slowly, ever so slowly, even stopping a couple of times, on 09-15-2010 getting into the yard a bit after 0930. Per D-3, 27 were going to be dropped there, presumably for PAS movement to the west. What was interesting, beside the block of Staley tanks, followed a few cars later by a block of Cargill tanks, and the Davison solo covered hopper, a Grace affiliate, that was advertising a catalytic octane booster, was the number of cars that still had retarder-polished sidewalls on their wheel-sets. Turnaround of MTs must be improving.

Ayer has two customers that routinely get cars from Maine. These 27 were more than likely cars destined for Ayer out of Maine. No reason to put PAS (Deerfield) bound cars on NMSE when they can go on NMED.
